Why SPF 6?
Dox SunBlaster continues to offer up to SPF 30 protection but now carries a SPF 6 rating.
There's a simple reason for the mismatch:
Our super easy application process is different to the very strict steps that must be followed during SPF ISO2444 testing.
For the official SPF test, a small measure of sunscreen is transferred into a pipette, onto a finger, and then rubbed into the skin. That's ok for traditional sun creams and lotions, but most of Dox SunBlaster's quick drying solution evaporates (like it's meant to) and never makes it to the test patch.
While laboratory testing only enables us to claim an SPF of 6, when the correct application process is followed, we are confident that Dox SunBlaster continues to offer exceptional levels of protection as evidenced by our own use and our loyal customers who are still using Dox 20 years later.
Don't let a little number on our packaging leave you seeing red. Dox SunBlaster continues to be made right here in Aotearoa - The same original formula made in the same local laboratory, using the same high-quality ingredients and delivering the same lab-developed recipe for up to SPF 30 protection.
